8 Ways A New Website Can Improve Your Business.

1. Make your site SEO (Search Engine-Friendly) friendly

How can a new website improve your business: A lot of businesses had a website built when they first set up the business between 2000 – 2013, and since then a lot has changed around SEO. Google isn’t as easy to rank as it was back then. You have to optimise each page for the right keyword, check what keywords are actually being searched, add an alt tag to all images, have a mobile friendly site and a hundreds of other things.

Mobile is probably most important, and this brings me on to my next point…

2. Optimise your users mobile experience

Mobile websites really hit the scene in 2010 when mobile responsive CSS3 was implemented. This means that all of the websites before that are lacking mobile support and while loads of websites since then have been updated to support mobile, a lot more haven’t. The amount of times I have seen a great business lose customers due to there terrible website has been ridiculous.

Implementing a mobile-friendly design isn’t hard and it comes with a lot of great benefits. Aside from saving your visitor/customer from pinching their mobile phone due to not being able to see anything on the screen, you also get the benefit of Google ranking you higher in the search results! This means more organic traffic for you, and a better experience for your customer.

3. Improve Load Time

Don’t you hate it when you’re waiting what feels like 30 minutes for a website to load… so do we, and so do your customers. Did you know that your customers attention span went from 12 seconds in 2000 to eight seconds in 2020. Now that doesn’t mean your website should load in eight seconds, ideally your website will load in 1.5 – 3 seconds. Anything above that and you have a higher chance of losing that visitor.

Let me give you 2 scenarios.

  1. A potential customer clicks on your site and it has taken 12 seconds to load. They are now frustrated with how long it has taken, but they also can’t seem to click to contact us page due to the buttons being too small as the website isn’t mobile-friendly.
  2. A potential customer clicks on your website and it loads in no more than 3 seconds for your customer and straight away they can see your contact details.

As a business owner, what scenario would you want your customer to go through?

I think I know what one I would want you guys to go to.

4. Add more Call-to-Actions

Ever wondered how can a website improve your business. Well Call-to-Actions are 1 amazing way. Having Call-to-Actions are brilliant! They are little elements around your website that draw your customer’s attention towards them and to do something that could lead to a sale! This could be small banners dotted around your site or even a small form at the top of your page. They come in all shapes and sizes.

Here are 39 Call-to-Actions that you don’t want to miss.

5. Give it a fresh new design

Freshening up your website is a great way to stay up to date with the latest and greatest trends. You wouldn’t want a dull & dark website that turns your visitors away as soon as they enter the website would you… (unless you run a haunted mansion)

6. Display your contact info in a better way

Instead of forcing a potential customer to reach your contact us page to find our your info, why not show them it straight away. This saves a customer digging through your website and potentially getting lost.

For a few of our clients we have created a small bar that runs along the top of the home page that instantly displays their address, number and email. This means that

7. Improve old pages

You may have pages you haven’t touched for years! Pages that could potentially bringing you in loads of organic traffic but because the content isn’t optimised for the right keywords, it’s just sitting there collecting dust.

If you get your website built with us, we take all the content from your current site and transfer it over to the new website without you lifting a finger. Simple as that.

8. Creating Sitemaps

A good sitemap acts as a road map of your website that leads Google to all your important pages. They are great for SEO, and are highly encouraged for all websites no matter how big or small.

It allows little bots and crawlers to access all the pages on your website without anyone knowing.
